Harvest Moon Farm is looking for 4-5 farm interns for the 2010 growing season. We are a certified organic, diversified produce farm that also coordinates a Producers Guild comprised of local Amish farms in our area. Interns will have the opportunity to learn all aspects involved with operating a produce farm. Duties will include being involved in all aspects of the growing process. Greenhouse work, transplanting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing.  Interns will also be involved in the processing and packing of restaurant and retail orders, CSA management and packing, and transportation.  Unfortunately, we don’t have living accommodations on the farm but interns do receive weekly supplies of organic produce and a monthly stipend of $750.00.  Work weeks are typically 40 hours but can be longer during peak harvesting weeks. We strive to provide a consistent schedule but are dependent on weather so we will only hire interns who can be somewhat flexible with their schedules.  Applicants must be available to perform a variety of tasks and willing to work in sub par weather conditions. Our farm is located in Viroqua, Wisconsin; nationally recognized as one of the most forward thinking and progressive agricultural areas in the world. We are willing to assist non-local applicants locate suitable housing in the area. (Dates TBA early spring – late fall). Interested applicants should send a completed application and a resume.
